Re: 5w40 or 10w40 oil?
Is your Igniter well calibrated? (too much advance can create that oil temperature phenomena) Well, I don't know about that... And I don't think my mechanic knows how to calibrate it. I saw that the idle speed isn't smooth at all... The carburetor was calibrated last summer, but I think I need to g...

[WANTED] peugeot 309 Mk1 dashboard clock
I'm searching for the digital clock in the middle...I can't find it anywhere in my country, as the car is quite rare here.
Also if anyone has the small ornament next to the mirror on the left.

Re: 5w40 or 10w40 oil?
It depends. Does your sensor work properly? My GT used to have a high oil temperature. I never found the origine I'm not sure. Last year, in the summer it rarely reached 100. And now even in this rather cold weather, when I drive more it reaches 110-115, the water stays at 70-80. Almost all the coo...

Re: 5w40 or 10w40 oil?
In the end I went with the total quartz 7000 energy (10w40), I put it in today.
I hope this solves the problem with the oil getting very hot, around 115 degrees

5w40 or 10w40 oil? Benzine excess consumption?
Hi, I have a 1986 Peugeot 309 GT with 176000km and the 82kW XU92C engine. Currently I have a semi-synthetic elf competition ST 10w40 oil which I want to change. I know it is a poor quality oil and I want a higher quality one. Someone told me that any engine would benefit from a change from 10w to 5w...
