Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
I am very sorry to inform you of a little accident I had today. The guy ignored a STOP sign and was on the phone. He hit me while I was moving. The impact was quite strong. Here are the pictures: http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/1492/dsc02579uj.th.jpg http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/7076/dsc02580...

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
I can say that the muffler is a big deal for the 309 1.3. It has not such a powerful engine, therefore any change in the exhaust is bad. It looses valuable horse power and then you have to push the engine harder to make up for the loss. So the consumption is influenced. If the engine is stock, best ...

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
In the last 2-3 months I have been noticing higher consumption on my car. As I drive it very rarely on gasoline and almost always on LPG from start to shutdown, gasoline consumption is not very well known, but because of the general bad shape of my carb it is about 13l/100km, which is too much. But ...

Re: Restoring the power of a 1986 110bhp XU92C engine
Just came of the road. I need to go out again tomorrow. Is there any news on the handbooks? If I can help in any way, just say the word!

Thanks for the picture. It's great that you have such a handbook. What book is this? How can I get it?

Re: Restoring the power of a 1986 110bhp XU92C engine
What about the advance on the ignition? How much did you set it to? I need to check my ignition once again, because I've done everything to reduce consumption, but it has no effect. I followed the 1.5-2.5K rpm rule and the consumption is the same as when I drive it at 3.5K (120kph 5th gear) about 11...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ycstu8L75s excuse the music, but you can clearly see what I am talking about. What could that be? You have a problem in your fuel/air mixture :super: Your are running rich or poor..i have to check !! By pumping on the brake as you are doing, it's a good way to check ...

Re: Restoring the power of a 1986 110bhp XU92C engine
With the manifold you need to be persistent. If it wont come of, then be persuasive, take a hammer and persuade it. :D I once used a crow bar. That helped a lot. Use a LOT of WD40 and hammer on the screws, but don't damage them, go easy, from side to side. Then again WD40. If not this way, try loose...

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
Guys, I am dumb. I bet it's because the LPG system needs vacuum to operate. The pedal must create greather vacuum when pressed, so the vaporizer gives of more LPG and the rpm rises. I need to test the system on gasoline. I bet the same is not the case. I will post my findings.

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
That one is fine. It has a good vacuum, and has no leaks. If there were a leak, the pedal would be stiff, but in my case that is not so. The pedal is quite soft. I've checked the brake lines, no air. replaces the brake pads in front, so new, not even 700km. Maybe it's soft because of the rear brakes...

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
yes, see the video. It's not like 20-30rpm it's quite more. And I know that if the rpm gets lover considerably that is bad too, because there is a vacuum leak.

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
No, a manual. but that doesn't matter. I know how to use it, and to this day haven't forgotten to close it when the engine heats up. I think it's something in the vacuum system.
