The problem is resolved. The alternator belt was badly worn and is now replaced. Also there was some rust collected in the bottom of the water hose connecting to the pump, that I cleaned and put in new coolant.
Thanks for all the help!

And if someone could please tell me the original part numbers for the waterpump, the whole thing, also the thermostat part number, it opens at 83 c? Is that right? I'm going to buy all ...

Re: High coolant temp
So a worn belt can cause water pump failure? Wouldn't the alternator indicate failing as well? By lighting up the low charge light in the dash?

Re: High coolant temp
If replacing the thermostat doesn't yield a result, how does one make certain the water pump is working ok?

High coolant temp
I've got quite a problem with high coolant temp. The car started fine and ran fine until yesterday. So in mid drive the car started cutting out, shuttering. I thought it was the LPG system, so I continued driving on gasoline. The problem resolved, for a little while. Then the indicator for coolant t...

Re: Restoring the power of a 1986 110bhp XU92C engine
In my experience quality drive shafts are expensive. I could choose here by three quality grades, first there was this Italian made for 120eur, the second one was a german refurbished one for 170eur, and a french original for 260eur. Note that this is the left drive shaft, which is some 30% cheaper ...

What you mention is called a drive shaft. It's probably the wheel side. I don't know on your particular transmission model if you can replace only the side by the wheel or the whole drive shaft, as is the case with mine. It's not that alarming, but if you let it persist, it will damage the wheel bea...

Re: G1A engine - Bad compression ratio
I am honestly not familiar with this method of putting oil in the bores. Can you explain to me how much oil should I put in? Is that through the spark plug hole? And how will the engine start after that, is the starting than difficult? How much are these engines in France? I have a friend there who ...

G1A engine - Bad compression ratio
I've noticed, when changing the clutch, that i can turn the flywheel almost by hand. This leads me to the conclusion that my compression is very bad. It became so in the last 20K km. I always monitor the oil level, so the engine never lacked oil, but now I don't know what could be the cause of this ...

Re: [missa91] My 309GR 1.3 '86
Here are some pictures of last year. We changed the left drive shaft, trailing arms, stabilizer bar rubbers, shocks, springs, shock mounts, the whole thing... It solved many problems. But as a year, and even more, has passed since then, the stabilizer bar makes a loud sound when reversing and when g...

After a long absence we are back! :) I had a lot of family trouble in the past year so my car didn't really get the attention it needed. And also there were a few incidents. I crashed it in a kiosk because my rear end tore the silent block on the upper front left side of the axle. So i lost control ...

Re: Restoring the power of a 1986 110bhp XU92C engine
I had the same problem, with me the needle in the speedo moved when put on a drill, but put back in the transmission it didn't. I found a second speedo cable and replaced the old one. The problem was resolved. It had looked as it were the pinion in the transmission, but it was the cable. Anyway, hop...
