I saw that under the hood there is a diagnostics port, someone told me that this car has a computer and can be diagnosed like a modern car, is this true?

I know that the peugeot dealership can connect to it, but what information can they tell me? are 25+ euro worth it?

Well, be careful, this is nothing compared to recent cars. It's just a basic diagnostic port which works with a very basic code reader anyone can buy on the net. So it has nothing to do with computer systems. All injection 309s with a catalytic converter are equipped with it I think.

It is a useless wire ^^ I think I will remove it on the engine I am repairing :)

Oh okay, it's not a diagnostic connector, it's for the air conditioning.

i read in the manual that one of it's uses is to adjust the engine timing, could it be that it's all it does?

To adjust the engine timing, generally you put the instrument directly all around the electrical wires

I don't know. All the mecanics who did it on my 309s never use this connector ;)

All 309s have it, whether they have A/C or not because it was much easier to manufacture it like that. When they don't have A/C the connector has two wires connected to each other.
