GTI only 8....now only 2 are alive..and one of them have an Mi16 inside....so aparently there's only 1 real GTI 8v compete in Uruguay..Mine it's a GT, not a GTI...in Brazil there were NO 309, and

no..I live in Uruguay...in Uruguay 309 thera are a lot....309GTI are only 2 actives..and only one GTI16

That's the answer....aparently...the A/C compresor does not fit if you have an Mi16 engine ina 309 engine bay... :S

I now a GTI16 with an aftermarket A/C, so one way or another it fits.

your GTI16 have A/C??? original GTI compressor???

Not mine,I don't now if it was a compressor from a 405 or a 309 (5 pistons on the 309 and 7 on the 405) ; the A/C convertion was probably make in Italy if I remember well. The radiator support was probably a regular 2 fans
Instread of the special from GTI16:

I remember well than the radiator was very close to the intake and looks like a regular GTI/diesel/GTI16 radiator (the A/c radiators are normally 10mm larger just like in a 309 with supercharged diesel engine).

He doesn't know, it's not his car. He just assumes the radiator is the same.
