[Kesslfligga] 309 GTi MK2

Message par Kesslfligga » 28 sept. 2009, 08:09

Here some more pics of my GTi. It s a 309 GTi motronic, 120hp, nearly standard, except of lowering springs. It was registered in may 1991 with a sunroof and ABS ( is there a correct word for it in english? ), and the other GTi-stuff evrybody knows.

Here are some pics:

I just had a bit time to look for pictures of my former cars. My second 309 GTi was red 1989er, totally original and a beast on the road, was always running like hell without any probs.

I do not have pics when it was in good condition, but on the pics you can see what our nature can do with a car. :/

It was a bad hail in 2003, and the end of the GTi.

That was a bad day for the red 309. There was absolutely no way to repair the car, so all technical parts an interieur were sold and the car gone to "heaven".

Could anybody tell me if the 5-door GTi in the video at 1:16min. is kinda blue? I think its a blue color and if its true, is that an original Colour on a GTi?

Yes, it's definitely a blue. Actually, my 309 SL has the same colour, it's called Topaz Blue and it's one of the rarest colour.

If I ever have to / want to / am able to repaint my 309 I think that would be one of my favorite colors ( black and white ).
Its a great color on the 309, I think i would say a bit more good looking than the miami blue. Looks like theres nearly every 309 GTi16 painted in miami blue. I`m not sure if I`m 100% happy with the color of my GTi16 :/

Do you know if the topaz blue was original on a GTi? Seems so on the car in the video, but I´m not sure if this is an original GTi.

Hmmm, ....

Just took some pics yesterday. Next week the 309 gets some new parts like a new cooler, windscreen, silencer and wheel bearing all around.

Hope I will get that fitted next week. Theres a bit rust on the roof under the grommit around the windscreen and that needs the screen to be removed for a few days. What am I doing without my GTi such a long time :pleur4: ?

Here the pics ( the car gets some cleaning and polishing after repairing it ):

These pictures are very nice and the building behind the car is very nice too.

Sorry for your black 309, hope that the Jaguar owner did pay the bills. The more I see the MK1 309, the more I appreciate it, I don't really know why. Before, I thought it was looking kind of oldish (and I still do) but I really like it.
With all your pictures, I have a question for you: are you a Peugeot dealer? Because it seems like a garage you've got and there are lots of Peugeots?? Are you a mechanic or a collector? Otherwise, I don't understand... :happy1:

I got some money from his insurance company, not sure if it was enough, but who can say in fact of the car was 20 years old. :/

My first 309 was a GTi jetronic ( first on the road in march 1987 ), and I always was, and still I am, a fan of the MK1. In this days its hard to find a GTi, harder to find a good one but nearly not possible to find a MK1 in good condition. I`m happy with finding the grey one.

No, I`m not a dealer. My grandpa built up a little garage and was a car dealer in the early `50s. After he died my uncle got the garage and soon was selling subaru cars and years after that he sold peugeots and talbots. Everyone in the family had/ still have peugeots, mother, father uncles, brothers, cousins, .... End of the `90s he finishd with peugeot dealing and still has the garage today. He always was and still is agreat fan of 205 ( GTi ) and even took part in the rallye scene here in germany with 504 in the early years and later with 205 GTi. Nowadays he owns some 205 GTis, 505 Turbo, 306 S16, 106 S16, 405 Mi16 and a lot of parts.

I`m not a mechanic, I just love the 309s and the 205 GTis and even after having 11 GTis I still go crazy driving them and sometimes buy another one. Wish I would have enough money and space I would own a lot more of them.

There is someone in Germany who sells Simca and Talbot parts. His name is Jürgen and he's a real fanatic of these cars. It seems he's a bit like your uncle.
