The MOMO wheel is easy to find, the cap...
Some 205 GTI guys are looking for it so you have to be lucky and quick to find one, some month ago there was au 309 GT on sale with this steering wheel in Leboncoin:
http://www.leboncoin.fr/index.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You must search for "volant cuir 205" or "volant momo 205" and look at all the 309 GT/GTI mk1 just in case.

Hi,

after a complete engine revision on my GTi16 and changing the interieur I now had a little time for working on the GR.

Did some polishing work and refreshing the plastic parts. I´m not ready complete, but I think I´m on the right way.
Future plans are a complete lowering kit to get the "Dangel-309" lowered and bit more sporty character.

Maybe 205 Rallye springs can do the trick... the french market 1.3 Rallye, not the german market 1.9 of course.

Hm, I´m not sure what our "german TÜV" will say if I get my 309 some 205 springs!? 8/

Where can I get some of this stuff? How much are these springs?

Springs will fit perfectly as 205 and 309 shares the same front shock absorbers (externally, and sometimes internally too).
And most important the 5002.37 "2 RED OR 2 YELLOW" sprigs from the 205 Rallye are also listed as 309 parts, too bad the catalog have all the 309 springs in a big list without corresponding vehicle:

So,

after getting my Audi A8 out of the garage and finding a new owner for it, I had the chance to buy a pretty nice 309 Gti for a really nice price. Could not resist the very fair offer, so I got me a white 309 GTi with nearly no rust, a redone rear axle, new fog and spotlights and Speedlines looking like out of the store.

The owner kept it in good shape for about 13 years. Thought the car suffered a transmission damage but it only losses oil screw where you get the old oil out and on the sealing rings.

If all runs well I can get the car on the road on the next thursday.

Really happy with it. :ghee:

Yes, its in really nice shape considering the milage of over 250000Km. Hope to get the car fixed till thursday and put on some atiwe-alloys also.

Just had a look on lebincoin, counted 15 Mk2 and 8 Mk1! Wow! Its a bit sad, most of them look really bad conditioned or not original.
I´m not on the french market very often. Most of the cars are located too far to have a look or buy and it´s very hard to get in contact if you do not speak the language.

A white or silver 5-doors Gti .... could be very nice.

The thing is that you can't trust the odometer, specially with a white instrument cluster like this one.

Hi,

so, after removing the damaged gearbox I got a new clutch and a redone gearbox fixed under the GTi. After fitting the wintertyres ( took it off the 405 and sold the red Mi16 break ), I got the GTi and the GR to a friends garage. He had to give both of it a cavity sealing for to keep the rustfree condition for a long time.

The GTi was done on thursday and after leaning it a bit, I polished the 309 to get back the nice white colour. Think the paintjob is in really good shape for a 24 years old car with 255000Kms on the clock.

The GTi still needs a lot of work, but its getting less every day. Next week I will get the lowering springs fixed. I have bought some Hamann springs for the GTi and some Eibach for lowering the GR.

Diese Felgen sind die zelbe von die 309 Magic von Schweiz. Aber sie sind in schwarz in der Mitte.

Not exactly the ones which where fitted on the magic. I think on the magic there where 6x15 Exips, the rims on my 309 are 7x15 Atiwe. Put the Atiwe on for wintertime to save my 7x15 Exips from salty streets.

No reason for apologizing :hello:

I live 50Km south east from munich. But I am planning to get to Montlhery on may the 2nd. Where on the frontier do you live?

Rust problem on the rear left, maybe it's nothing or maybe it's only the tip of the iceberg. You better check this carefully before injection too moch money on the car.

I had a look on it, seems to be the typical "problem". If the weather is better I want to change the bumpers to fix sum ones without this lights/holes in it. I will remove the bumper and the rearlight to resolve this rustproblem.
I checked the whole car, no rust on the wheel wells or any other typical part where you find rust on the 309.
