Last week I got a new MOT on the car for a year, without any problems.

A couple of weeks ago I did some work on the car, I removed the axle from the car, for some anti rust work on the car. It was not to difficult, but to remove the nuts are a pain in the ash. I replaced the rear axle mounting rubber. I painted the axle and the bottom of the car. What I still have to do is to is the close a rust hole near tank fuel tank.

It's always nice of you to take the time to tell us what's going on. Rust is really the big enemy here, and that's one thing that is really so annoying to deal with.
So, when you're done with that rust hole, please pay us a visit. ;)

Rust is one of the biggest issues. You have to take some actions to get some grip on it.

Nice to read that you appreciate the updates. :super:

Hello,

it's a long time ago, but still enjoying my 309GTI16.

I have ben working on the body. Did some welding on the front, inside the wheelarch.

Also mounted 307 front breaks to get some better breaking.

Here are some photos.

Thanx. And now wishing that it twill last for a while.
I was checking the underside of the at the back, for rust spots. I was expecting not to find some rust, but I was wrong. The were some holes, and some surface rust. In the wheel arch I spotted a rust hole I think it was from a CD changer. And unfortunately there was a large hole in the wheel arch were the fuel pipe travels. I think this came the fuel pipe contacted the bodywork. :rougefaché:

Thanks.

Last week I got the car to a painter to repair some small irregularities:

- on the front right side of the car there was a scratch, and a small dent.
- the driver door was repainted, also there where some scratches.

I'm really glad with the result, it looks much better now

A thing I did it by my self, painted the alloy wheels, with 2-k high gloss clear paint. It was painted with 1-k but the 2-k makes a great difference, the shine is much greater.

So is it perfect now? :)

About the 1-k high gloss vs 2-k, do you have any picture so we can see the difference. Isn't the 2-k a bit too shiny?
And btw, when looking at the magazine article, it seems you're quite tall. How do you feel inside the car? Because all tall people who own a 309 say they're feeling very bad in it. That was the stupid question time. :hehe:

Perfect!?, for me is it good enough ::d

I will make some photo's from the results, and I have pictures from before. My opinion is that's it is not too shine, and the 2-k spray is more resistant.

You saw that correctly, we Dutchmen are quite tall :]. It's not that I get claustrophobia, but when my hair gets longer it hits the roof. :) . Only thing I have is that the chair back is to short. But when driving in it, al things are good.

Ok about the 2-k. Resistance is a very good thing actually!

Yeah I know that about Dutchmen, I went to Amsterdam a couple of times and saw that. It's an old French car anyway, so quite small of course. :)

I noticed that the brake fabric, affect the 1-k paint more then the 2-k paint.
Indeed it's a 27 year old French car, but it's so fun to drive in it.

Last weekend I had the car out of the garage, and a car stops ad the drive lain, he walks to my car. He was really impressed by the looks of it. We talked some time and he sad, he worked from 1990 to 1994 by Peugeot Netherlands. He liked the car very much, to much power for such a car :frime:
