Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
I think the same! Why buy an expensive new car when my 309 drives well and never dies? That's what I said to one of my students, he was joking about my "old" car and I told him "well, I may have an old car but at least I don't eat potatoes and my car is mine".
I must admit I don't post many pictures of my cars because one of my friends broke my camera and I only have my mobile phone to take pictures. You can still some pictures of my car in my topic in the English part or in the French part. But I know a lot of people here think it's not a real GTI since it has an auto gearbox.

Ok, I would never drive an automatic, but still, It's a GTI! No one can say it is not, because it is as rare as it is....

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
Well, you may really miss something. Before I bought the car I was totally against an automatic transmission because I felt I was not in control. Then I bought it (only because it's a very rare car) and since then, I LOVE automatic cars! It's terrific to drive, much nicer and much more comfortable!! Oh yeah! Now, I really would like to buy a 309 Automatic for my collection.

The 309 is so simply and funny to drive. The Peugeot 307 is not as interesting to drive (but it remains a good model)

With the 309 I got my right rear wheel in the air, thats not something I would try with a 307

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
What I like most about the 309 are these three things:
1. I don't need to go to the gym, I have no PAS
2. People think I'm poor
3. When girls like me, I know it's not because of my car

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
I just lost half of my nerves when my speedo gave out!
The rubber ball on the speedo cable got loose and yanked out the cable from the speedo. It took me an hour to get the rubber back in its place!

Yes, but don't forget you have a 1.3 engine so the access is very easy. On my GTI, it's impossible to touch the other end of the cable.

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
Now I have another question. When there is a hill my engine sounds like it looses a spark plug. The sound when you get your car trough much much water, only its dry now. And when on a flat surface the sound isn't there. Also a lack of power is present. This happens with LPG and gasoline. The valves aren't bad, since there is no valve noise with gasoline. Any clue?
