Re: [Kesslfligga] 309 GTi MK2
Nice buildings.
I see the problem with the 8v and it's always hard to think straight when you like a car. Fortunately, you're thinking straight and I guess the underneath is much more rusty than what we can see on the pics. It's always a pity to scrap a car, but we cannot save every 309. We must save the ones which are already in good condition, so they can keep their good shape and have long and happy lives.
I can see your new car. It's the Ferrari, right? But seriously, where do you get these rims? It seems they are similar to the ones on your GTI 16. Do you make them yourself?
Anyway, the 405 estate is a really good car and has plenty of room in the boot. I kinda prefer it to the saloon version plus the boot is gigantic!! Good investment!!

Re: [Kesslfligga] 309 GTi MK2
Yes, it´s pretty hard to really face the fact that we can´t save all 309s and to take a loved and reliable car off the roads and scrapp it one day.
I always wanted a 309 5 doors with a 16V but I can´t do a conversion like that myself. So the only way was to get another GTi16. Some of the few availble cars where in bad condition ( like my 8V ), others could not be asessed couse the owners/sellers where not available.
So I saw the 405 about 1 1/2 month ago. I had a 405 Mi16 two years ago, and I didn´t like it very much. But this break had some properties I couldn´t say no.
4 doors, no sunroof, much bigger trunk than a 309, 2 years TÜV, absolutely no rust ( even under the car ), and a D6C in the engine bay.
The rims came with the 405 plus very good wintertyres. I love them, this are Expis like the ones on the GTi16, 7x15 ET18.

I think so. The first owner lived in Garmisch-Patenkirchen ( maybe some of you know this location ), a lot of snow every year, means a lot of salt every year. And here in my place its not really better.SRDTURBO a écrit :Really crunchy, too much salt?

In Poissy I saw a Talbot which was used as a "rust-test" and when you see the car, you can only laugh or think "oh my god".

Re: [Kesslfligga] 309 GTi MK2
So,
after a few hard months "working" on five cars in my very short freetime, a lot of things are done now to keep my Peugeots in good condition.
After the engine breakdown of my GTi16 in august 2013, the 309 is now running again. Got the "Graffic" ( my grandma left 2010 ) out of my mothers garage and stored the GTi16 dry and safe.
The GTi16 now is waiting for getting its new interieur.
My 405 Mi16-SW got a complete "Sport-Extra"- Velours interieur, the Sandtler sport seats and the GL-stuff where kicked out.
My newest car, the 309 GR, got a new clutch and new GTi-breaks in the front. I put some GTi-alloys on and got the car some brandnew wind deflectors on the frontdoors. I also removed the "small" side trim and fitted the GTi/SX/Bestline- trim.

Re: [Kesslfligga] 309 GTi MK2
Hey there,
the GTi16-Interieur found its new home a few days ago. Was a bit work to do, but I´m very happy with the result.
Took a few pics:
The 16V-engine was totally redone the last two month. The 309 got a new clutch and new breaks also and runs really nice. Hope it keeps running "afew Kms"

Re: [Kesslfligga] 309 GTi MK2
Thanks a lot! I was very surprised how blue the carpet lights after cleaning it with a high pressure cleaner and some carpet-cleaning stuff.
The seats just got some leather soap and refreshing stuff, a bit carpet cleaner and they do look pretty nice now.
Love the interieur, it give the car a more lighter and friendlier charakter. The black carpet and full leather made the whole inside of the 309 dark and not very residential.
I´m wondering if the "goodwood-stw" is out of place and if I would replace it with an original leather stw!?

Re: [Kesslfligga] 309 GTi MK2
The center cap would be better in black or blue with your car, or instead of the regular stw you can look for a "World Champion" one:
In fact the same MOMO Montecarlo but with leather, only the center cap is collector.
