Hello everyone,

I have a question about the headlight height adjustment, mines not working. Can maybe some explain how this system works. Does it works with a cable or something.

It works with hydraulic fluid... when it works.
In my 309 it is dead, and a new is too expensive so I use springs just like in the 309 which don't have it

Yes, that's hell to repair that! If it's not working you should have a leak somewhere, just have to find it.

i never saw a 309 with a system that works !!

Mine works but the car doesn't.

You can have a look at my 309 at the meeting. There it works perfectly . But I had to repair it because I would otherwise not get a street legal by TÜV inspector (vehicle testing every 2 years for road safety in Germany). Now I use it every month, so it does not break down again because it was expensive.

maybe it just works on export cars so they'd give a good image to the 309 !!

I prefer the manual system as SRDTURBO said.I didnt change mine yet but i will soon do..
As for the carburator..manual chocke is way better then my automatic chocke !!!

I have the system almost working now. I filled up the 'pistons' with oil, and when I turn the knob the pistons goes back in. But at one side the psitons had a leak, so I had too repair that. The only thing is that where the piston a comes in too holder at headlamp is broken. The only thing is that the adjustment knob does turn back.

So maybe it will work after many years.

The system is working. I replaced the one that was leaking from one wich came out a 205. So it finally working after al these years, it's not to difficult to do the job.

This system has never worked on my 309 lol !

The manual system directly on the headlight support is the best one. it is available on the basical model of 309.

I must say it's working fine now, and it's very ingenious, maybe not really sustainable over al these years.
