Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
That is what I heard about the classical 309. Everything is available in Bendix, but not in Girling.
You know, each time I got a trouble with a caliper, I changed it with a scrap part and things were ok

Ok, if you go to a scrap yard and take the caliper of a car yourself, seeing that all rubbers are in correct shape and that there is no play in the sliders, then OK, why not, I would go for it. But to get a used caliper without knowing how long it has been sitting there, I wouldn't mount that on my car.

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
My only problem is the very high cost of shipping. Could you find out how much it would be? The parts and shipping.

I didn't now that. A 206 caliper fits on my 309 with Girling brakes?

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
Cheap and new calipers can be found on the net. I bought a pair of Girling some months ago because my calipers were in bad condition and I didn't want to go for used ones.

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
isn't better to buy new ones ? i think i will go for the 206 ones / the 205 GTI 1.6 (hesitating) or simply the GTI 1.9 as SRDTURBO did but there's some work to do to get on my 14" rims !alargeau a écrit :Cheap and new calipers can be found on the net. The GTI ones can't be fitted to rims smaller than 15", isn't that right?

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
This is what I thought too.but he managed to put it inside his 14" rims, with taking of some material on the corner.
Believe me its in...but with such modification, you will have more weight on the wheels. Since you have a small engine,I won't do such modification.

Re: My 309GR 1.3 '86
I think you are right. But I do have the constant problem of my brakes getting used up too fast. I do drive fast and all, but this is getting annoying. I am convinced that the calipers are seizing up.
