[Joske_] My black beauty
Some pics of my 1991 309 GTi16.
The plan is to completly rebuild it in time.
Normally the big works would start this winter. But with the upcomming Euro-Event, I think I'm going to change the plans.
And some photo's during the annually Pug Drivers Trackday at Circuit Zolder.
Pics of the half-leather interior.

Re: My black beauty
First of all, your GTi16 looks fantastic! Black ( or white ) is the best looking color on the 309, I think.
I wish I`d never sold my black GTi16. The more 309 GTis/GTi16s I see on the web, the more I dislike the miami blue. Seems nearly every 309 is painted blue.
I always wanted to have a white one with full leather interieur or a black one.
Hmmm, .....

Re: My black beauty
Yes, lots of 16s were painted blue because it was a sort of typical colour for the GTI16... So when you see a 309 GTI and if it's blue, you know it's a GTI16. Other colours are less eye-catching.
Anyway, those alloys look fantastic. Be careful with the rear arches because it may touch. And take pics as soon as they are on the car!

Re: My black beauty
But there were 309 GTis in Britain with miami, and they never had the GTi16. Or are these cars repainted ones?alargeau a écrit :Yes, lots of 16s were painted blue because it was a sort of typical colour for the GTI16... So when you see a 309 GTI and if it's blue, you know it's a GTI16.
The rims are really nice. Look great on the black beauty, I bet. If it wouldnt be that expensive I would get my 309 GTi16 colored black ( or white ). But it seems I have to live with the miami blue.

Re: My black beauty
Just to make sure the wheels will fit the 309 proberly I trialfitted them yesterday.
Since I was busy with the wheels, I also trailfitted them on my 206. Just to make sure the wheels clear the 206RC-brakecalibers.
With a little smaller tire the look good on the 206 too. Not perfect because I think the 206 is to modern a car for those old-schoolwheels.
The only thing that is very clear now is that my rearaxle needs refurbishing urgently. I have no problems with PTS-wheels touching the wheelarches.

Re: My black beauty
Even though they are beautiful, I really think they look way nicer on the 309 than on the 206.
Concerning your rear axle, yes it does need refurbishing... that's what we call in France the Gordini effect!

Re: My black beauty
In the meantime, the rearaxle is removed from the car and taken apart.
Will waiting for some parts for the beam I started removing the entire brake system.
Plans for the brakes:
- 206RC brakecalibers
- 406/partner Master brake cilinder
- Goodridge high performance brakelines
- EBC grooved discs and greenstuff brakepads

Re: My black beauty
Dat ziet er allemaal zeer serieus uit. Ook gelijk maar een remmen upgrade.
Motorisch nog wat aangepast?
Ga vooral zo door.

Re: My black beauty
