Re: Restoring the power of a 1986 110bhp XU92C engine
I would do the following: replace the temperature sender for the oil, change the oil, oil filter and maybe remove the oil pan and see if there is any dirt, so it can be removed. And I personally think that you have a quality oil, so, such a temperature is no problem for it.

Re: Restoring the power of a 1986 110bhp XU92C engine
The oil and the filter doesn't have more than 2000km and 2 months, so it's to soon to change it. And on it's box it says it "resists high temperature for modern injection engines" so I to think it's ok.
But I am not worried as much about the oil as I am with the engine not being cooled enough....
As for the oil temperature sensor I think I will replace it and the oil pressure sensor.
Any idea how much would them cost? And I would lose oil by replacing them right? I should wait until the next oil change next year.

You just drain the oil in a clean bowl and then put it back. You might loose 100g, bu that is nothing. And I bet you have some oil left over in the trunk from the last change. These sensors here cost about 7eur each. But are they perhaps the same one on your engine.
Tell me, did you ever put sealant stop for the cooling system in the car? Some think like the WURT radiator seal?

I didn't. It loses some water from the top of the radiator, but not that much, I check it regularly.

On a XU9, sensors do not cost much, between 5 and 8€ each. Don't worry, you won't lose so much oil when replacing them, but they seem to be working fine.

From what I understand it's 10 but there is no mention of unleaded fuel. And haynes says to "contact my peugeot dealer"

No, this is about spark plugs, not the ignition timing. It says "Spark plugs - 10 to 20 Nm" (how much force you should screw them).

Re: Restoring the power of a 1986 110bhp XU92C engine
Oops, sorry, my mistake!!! Yeah, that's the correct value, 10° at 700 rpm. Because this manual is from Switzerland and they only had unleaded petrol at that time.

Re: Restoring the power of a 1986 110bhp XU92C engine
It's from Germany because it was bought from Augsburg, and yes in 1993 they did had only unleaded there, but I am not sure about 1986...alargeau a écrit :Oops, sorry, my mistake!!! This manual is from Switzerland because it has both Italian and German languages (they don't speak Italian in Germany
