rear wiper motor
My rear wiper motor hasn't ever worked. I am not even sure how does it work.
I recently bought another motor from someone, and I connected it to the plug but nothing happened. And I just wanted to be sure that there is no problem on my end before I accuse him of anything.
On the plug there are 3 wires and I am not sure why. One is ground, one has 12V when the key is turned and the other has 12V when I press the button. Is this correct?
BTW: the pump also was broke but I changed it and now it works.

Re: rear wiper motor
mark 1
but i still don't understand the need for the 12V on contact if the mark 1's rear wiper doesn't return to it's right position by itself (or does it?)

Re: rear wiper motor
I think it does, otherwise the 12v after contact is useless.
When you press the button, you have the 12v on the connector?
Also check your ground .... I'm not sure but I heard that on mark 1 the circuit was made by the trunk cylinder, you can also look out ....

Re: rear wiper motor
Yes I do have 12V on the connector. I didn't try the motor with the trunk closed yet though, I will do it tomorrow, even though I measured the voltage with it's own ground and with the trunk opened...beni a écrit :I think it does, otherwise the 12v after contact is useless.

Re: rear wiper motor
try with the trunk closed ... otherwise, I feel that your engine is dead ...
You can also test your engine by connecting directly to a 12v

the motor works, but it doesn't return to it's position, still haven't found the use for the 12V on contact

Re: rear wiper motor
ok! I had read too fast ... on your engine ensures that the wire that brings the 12v after contact is not melted or short circuit to ground ... it happened to me once, the engine had to force to get back into position and the wire had melted on the engine ...
