Re: alargeau -- my 2 309s --
Thanks a lot Matthias! That's always good to hear your car is appreciated by some people. I'll definitely take some pics very soon.
... But I don't think I'll buy my car someday, I mean we never know...

Re: alargeau -- my 2 309s --
I must say it again - very great car! Could you make a picture of one of the front lights? Are they in one part? For what is this stick on the left side? Hope I can see your GTI live next year!

Re: alargeau -- my 2 309s --
I'll take some pics, don't worry!
The headlights are not in one piece, but I've got headlamp protectors fitted so I think that's why you're asking the question. You can see one of them on the 3rd picture.
The "stick" is a corner pole, it was a Japanese accessory at the time though my car had it as standard. The corner pole is situated on the opposite side of the driver's side and it helps the driver to park the car, because in Japan spaces are very small and people are very respectful to other vehicles. It's simply the old system which has now become parking sensors.

Re: alargeau -- my 2 309s --
I have good news concerning my 309 GTI. The company to which I sent the old automatic headlight system told me they already managed to make another one, absolutely identical.
In shoret, the automatic headlight system that I had in my 309 never worked (with me) because it burnt in the past. I sent it to a company which deals with electronics and they could tell me lots of things about it. First, it was made in Japan by DENSO, in 1990, but the exact date can't be seen since the plastic was burnt. The plastic shows a reference number which ends with 02 / 02 and the company told me it means they made 2 systems and mine is the second one.
Then, they could tell me very accurate things: the system powers the headlamp in less than 0,5 second (which apparently was very rare at the time) when it is dark. The system also has the Go Home function which consists of leaving the headlight on for 25 seconds to help you see in the dark.
The system could also be connected to the central locking system to power on the headlights when you open or close the door at night.
I also managed to get the original stickers done by a specialist. One sticker is the original "Peugeot Japon" one and the other one is the original Japanese Peugeot dealer sticker. They will be printed very soon and mounted on the car, I will then take pics and show them to you, obviously...

Re: alargeau -- my 2 309s --
I bought some new wheels for my SL. I got them for €50 and they look like this:
The picture was taken from the internet but the condition is quite average, I'll refurbish them soon though.

You don't need to refurbish them now!

No but that's not the actual wheel. The wheels I got are in average condition and the tires are used anyway.

Re: alargeau -- my 2 309s --
Today I brought my GTI to the "CT" (TUV-MOT-ITV, whatever you call it in your country) and the guy told me "Wow, it's a 309 GTI!" and I told him "yes, but don't play with it, I will know".

Re: alargeau -- my 2 309s --
My GTI didn't pass the French test because I didn't fix the handbrake cables.... I know, I'm such a drag...
